Provincial Archives of Alberta

Provincial Archives of Alberta (PAA) houses extensive records relating to the Ukrainian community in Alberta, including personal papers of many individuals and families, but also records of numerous Ukrainian organizations. They provide a closer look at the Ukrainian community in Alberta, its beginnings and its development. Together with the Friends of the Provincial Archives of Alberta Society, PAA created a publication: Ukrainian Archival Records at the Provincial Archives of Alberta: An Annotated Guide. It is freely available online in English and in Ukrainian.


Library and Archives Canada

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is a national repository that houses archival records related to Ukrainian Canadians that have national significance. This page provides information on Ukrainian records at LAC and how to find them.


Bohdan Medwidsky Ukrainian Folklore Archives

The Bohdan Medwidsky Ukrainian Folklore Archives (BMUFA) houses records relating to the history and culture of Ukrainians around the world with a focus on Ukrainians in Canada, and specifically in Alberta. In 2020, BMUFA acquired archival collections of the Ukrainian Canadian Archives and Museum of Alberta, thus significantly increasing the amount of holdings related specifically to Ukrainians in Alberta. The BMUFA archival database is available online.
